I awakened from a slumber that I didn't even greet. My chin felt itchy and dry with saliva. I looked to my side to see 1 blue eye and 1 green eye staring at me calmly. At first, I wasn't alert this was the wolf and jumped. When I jumped, something fell from my worn clothing. Something that I hadn't seen in what seemed like generations. Food!! I watched as a near dead fish slowly flopped on the ground. Nimbly, the wolf caught it with its teeth and offered it to me. My mouth quickly wet and I grabbed it. I didn't care about cutting it up, I just swooped it in my mouth with a grin on my face. The water in the fish slapped at my itchy dry throat as it moaned peacefully. My body seemed to have regained a lot of strength after I was done with the fish. I was able to crawl now. The wolf strangely guided me to a lake. Not even caring to thank the wolf, I splashed my face in the lake. I gathered water in my mouth until my stomach was filled to burst. The wolf stared at me calmly and I knew I forgot something. My hand raised to the wolf and slowly pet it's soft fur. It seemed pleased with my comfort and licked my hand. What a friend I had made today.
